100 Tooth Diablo Ultra Fine Circular Saw Blade

Frued’s 100 Tooth Diablo Ultra Fine Circular Saw Blade – Review

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” – Henry Ford

We definitely learned a lesson last week when we lent our 12″ Dewalt sliding miter saw, which by the way is amazing, to a relative so he could cut some laminate flooring to go in his house.  No big deal right; I’m of course happy to help family! Well, unbeknownst to all parties involved, laminate flooring is the executioner to standard wood cutting saw blades. Mistake made and lesson learned. Not a terrible loss though, as we were thinking of upgrading to a fine tooth blade anyway.

100 Tooth Diablo Ultra Fine Circular Saw BladeAs luck would have it, I happen to have a talented mentor who had already given us some advice on what blade to get when we were ready to upgrade. Now, the one that we really wanted is about $100, an expense we weren’t ready to take on. So instead we went with another well known blade, the 12″ Diablo 100t Ultra Fine saw blade by Freud. The Diablo blade was $55 on Amazon and with our Prime account, shipping was free and quick. We were down for 2 days but when we were back up, boy was it beautiful!

After a quick blade change, we did a little adjusting to make sure the blade was square then gave it a test cut. Let me tell you, I had no idea a cut so fine could be done in my garage workshop. I was elated! The edges were so crisp and the face of the cut was miles better than the factory edge or our cuts from our previous DeWalt blade that came with the saw. We’re not currently doing fine woodworking, but with upgrades like these, I could see some new projects in the near future!

Learn from our mistake so you don’t have to. Never use a regular wood cutting blade on laminate floors, and don’t rely on the factory blade for your woodworking! Get something nicer like the Diablo blade we are now loving! You won’t regret it!
