12 Days of Christmas DIY Giveaway Day 5: Angel Wing Ornaments!

***UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Falon! Thanks for entering everyone. Be sure you enter all the other giveaways that are live while you still can!*** Day 1 of our 12 Days of Christmas DIY Giveaway was an ornament so, 4 days later seems like a good time to squeeze another ornament in and I'm sure it won't be the last before this week is done. Angel wings are kinda trending right now and for good reason. They're different, they're elegant and give interest to your decor. It's only fitting that as we celebrate the birth of Jesus and the host of angels who harked his arrival that we sneak a little representation for them in there. The Nativity scene has their angel, why limit the...

12 Days of Christmas DIY Giveaway Day 4: Burlap Rose Wreath!

***UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Briana! Thanks for entering everyone. Be sure you enter all the other giveaways that are live while you still can!*** What's a 12 Days of Christmas DIY Giveaway without at least 1 wreath. If you remember a week or so ago, I posted about the Christmas Tea Table I did for our church's Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Fucnction, well full disclosure, I just used some of the roses I made for that event for this wreath. But Fear not, I'll show you how I got there. First grab your supplies: For the roses I cut 3½" wide strips of burlap from selvage to selvage (across the full width of the burlap). I took that strip and cut it in half so that I...

12 Days of Christmas DIY Giveaway: Day 3 “Ornamental” Soap!

***UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Cindy! Thanks for entering everyone. Be sure you enter all the other giveaways that are live while you still can!*** Hello, and welcome to day three, or as I like to call it. The easy day craft. When some people "Deck the Halls" they do it to the 9's and go all out. Some people just put up a tree. I like to think of myself sitting somewhere in the middle. The hubbs has an Aunt who would go all out this time of the year to the point that she even had a seasonal shower curtain complete with snowman. The bathroom is typically a place reserved for "private business" and the thought of decorating never crossed my...

Christmas Tea Tablescapes

So "Tablescape" is a new word that I've recently added to my vocabulary. That sounds like something left to the professionals who set up magazine photo shoots and place settings at department stores. Not me. But when the need of table hostesses at my church's annual Lottie Moon Christmas Tea came about, I put my best plate forward and gave it a shot. Last year I tag teamed with a friend and split the responsibility but this year it was all up to me. Being the cheap frugal gal that I am, I pulled almost everything together from stuff I had either in my craft closet or laying around the house. When it occurred to me that I didn't own a tea pot, I put it out...

Kid’s Crafts: Pumpkin Turkeys

I love to craft. I love my kids. I do NOT love to craft with my kids. Kids=good. Glitter=good. Kids+Glitter=Worst idea ever. So before you scoff at me for NOT being a Mary Poppins/Martha Stewart hybrid, let me just say, I'm trying to be a better mom and craft with my kids. Okay, moving on. A few weeks ago my awesome, I repeat, AWESOME, husband took my kids to chick-fil-a while I hosted a Premier Jewelry party (love that stuff). The kids got to decorate a pumpkin for Halloween, with cute stickers to give them funny faces. Well, Halloween has come and gone and we still had these pumpkins sitting around. So, without their knowledge, I took off the stickers (you know the emotional devastation that would...
