Weston is Here!

Okay well he's been around for a little over 2 weeks at this point, but I'm finally getting around to shouting it out to the world (other than the immediate platform of my personal Facebook account). Mr. MillionAyres and I had a fun time with our own newborn photo shoot during one of those all too precious moments when all the kids were napping at the same time. Here's one of the better shots we ended up with. But we are only amateurs with limited knowledge of our camera. Time to call in the professionals.   Ashley Gussler Photography provided the following images, along with several others that we just swooned over. We love our little boy to pieces and so do his big sisters who (for...

DIY Wednesday: Americana if you wanna- Ruffled Americana Wreath

My mother in law is the most patriotic person I know, so naturally all things Americana are right up her alley. It was a no brainer who to give this to when I ventured out to make a ruffled wreath with one of my favorite materials burlap. It really was quite a simple process and I liked the way it turned out so much that I'm sure I'll be making another one closer to the 4th of July for myself. Step 1: Gather your supplies: 14" Straw wreath form- I recommend using this if you're using the floral pin method. Otherwise any old wreath form will do. Package of floral pins (I used an entire package of 50)- You can opt for hot glue if using a different wreath...

Still pregnant…

Well, to be honest with you I thought we'd have a bouncing baby boy in our arms by now. Granted my due date is tomorrow, but having contractions on and off for the last 3 weeks and being so far dialated for that same amount of time we fully expected that he would make his debut around Christmas time but here we are still "with child". I figured this being my 3rd pregnancy in less than 3 years, things would move a little quicker, but no such luck. Tomorrow is my due date, as well as my birthday, and I hope to enter back into the club of not pregnant very soon....

It’s in the (Fully Lined Canvas) Bag

So, it was my goal to make more of my Christmas gifts this year than purchase them. However with the loyal following of my family, posting about said creations prior to the holiday would have proven less than impressive to the recipient, thus I am sharing it now with you, after the fact. For my sister, who could easily fall into the "Hipster" category, I made a simple tote out of an old scrap of canvas that she actually gave to me in a box of random goods last spring as she was moving into a new apartment. I told her I would make something out of it and eventually I did. Is it wrong that she actually paid for half of the supplies for her...

Lemon Poppy Seed Angel Food Cake with Lychee Icing?!? For a Baby Shower?!?!

So a good friend of mine who is due just days before me with her second bundle of testosterone had her baby shower recently. When asked by the hostess what kind of cake she would want, in total seriousness Misty responded, "Lemon Poppy Seed Angel Food Cake with Lychee Icing". What?!  Not the typical, "Chocolate with Vanilla Butter Cream" that i'm sure was the expected answer. At least something common enough to be picked up from Publix or Sam's Club was what she was supposed to say. That's Misty though. Straight faced when she's saying the most outlandish thing expecting you to realize that it's a joke. Sometimes you can't tell; she's very good at what she does. So when I volunteered to handle cake duty  "Lemon...
